Sino-German Microfinance Capacity Building Initiative
The initiative is jointly driven by the People’s Bank of China (PBC) and GTZ. It aims to provide professional training and consulting services on a commercially sustainable basis. The services can be accessed by all kinds of Microfinance institutions, including MCCs, Village Banks, Commercial Banks, NGOs, and others. Furthermore, government entities can also benefit.
Consulting Services
Being part of the initiative, the Beijing Sino-German Microfinance Consulting Company offers its services to all Chinese Microfinance Institutions. Fields of work include human resource management, credit portfolio management, product development, internal capacity building, and more. The Consulting Company also provides advice on banking IT systems and can facilitate the installation of FAO-GTZ Microbanker, a software especially developed for Microfinance institutions and used worldwide.

Training Services
The Initiative has been providing regular training courses on the campus of PBC Graduate School in Wudaokou, Beijing, and in other provinces of China since March 2009. Trainings are targeted towards managers and staff of Microfinance Institutions, and others. Contents are delivered by experienced trainers, and take into account international best practices and the newest developments in China.
In addition, the Beijing Sino-German Microfinance Consulting Company provides custom-tailored trainings directly in Microfinance institutions, usually in combination with consulting activities. This can include training for loan officers, managers, IT staff, and others.
